The North Carolina Aquarium at Roanoke Island
Manteo, North Carolina

The Roanoke Island Aquarium Expansion was designed to tell the unique story of the waters, history and environment of the North Carolina Outer Banks. This aquarium’s architecture is designed to reflect the style of the original lifesaving stations located on the Outer Banks. This design style also honors five graves of the life savers that are featured on-site. This aquarium’s exhibits contain many species found only in this area of the North Carolina Coast while offering expansive views of the Croatan Sound.
