Jennette’s Pier for the North Carolina Aquariums
Nags Head, North Carolina

Jennette’s Pier replaces the old pier structure that was built in 1939. The original pier structure was destroyed by Hurricane Isabel in 2003. The new pier is a 1000’ long concrete structure with a 17,000 square foot pier house. The pier house is two stories. The first floor features a tackle shop, aquarium exhibits and classroom. The upper floor is a large multipurpose room with a full commercial kitchen and administrative offices. The facility is designed to fit within the historic Nags Head cottage style. While maintaining a traditional feel, the pier features many cutting edge alternative energy components. Jennette’s Pier is a Platinum Level LEED facility.
